WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
· Education: Undergraduate degree from an accredited university, college or hotel school.
· Skills: Strong analytical & communication skills, good command in verbal & written English & Chinese, proficiency in computerised accounting systems & MS Office applications.
· Personality: Attention to detail, a self-starter who is energetic & confident.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
· Follows up the hotel purchasing policy and procedures when carrying out of all purchases.
· Selects suppliers impartially based upon cost, ability to meet product specifications, efficiency and quality of their operations, deliveries on a timely basis as required and ability to source goods locally to avoid lengthy importation delays.
· Conducts interviews with suppliers to obtain information, specification, and quotation on any items required.
· Places orders with suppliers to ensure timely delivery to satisfy hotel requirement and traces the outstanding orders to ensure operational needs are met.
· Conducts the market survey to understand the market trend and the price floating.
· Ensures the safety of house funds.
· Collects the Market List quotation at the regular intervals, normally per 15 days.
· Co-ordinates with collection of supplier quotations and samples (if required) on a timely basis for each purchase and submits purchase order for required approvals.
· Follows-up any orders awaiting approval to ensure operational needs are fulfilled.
· Files the quotations sequential.
· Contacts with the related government departments as: Animal & Plants Inspection, Wine & Tobacco Monopoly and The Customs etc. to declare the necessary procedures.
· Maintains the confidential nature of information regarding supplier contracts.
