Operational §  Ensures that all company minimum brand standards have been implemented, and that optional brand standards have been implemented where appropriate. §  Monitors all operations, especially during peak business periods, working through the respective Head of Department to make adjustments where necessary. §  Assists in making sure that all Touches of Hyatt and the Food and Beverage Top 20 are implemented. §  Ensures that the Culinary Departments respond to the results of the Consumer Audit and to ensure that the relevant changes are implemented. §  Work closely with other management personnel in a supportive and flexible manner, focusing on the overall success of the hotel and the satisfaction of hotel guests. Operational (continued) §  Ensures that culinary employees work in a supportive and flexible manner with other departments, in a spirit of “We work through Teams”. §  Ensures that all employees are up-to-date with the availability of seasonal and new products on the market. §  Tastes and monitors the food products served throughout the operation, providing feedback where appropriate. §  Works with the Materials Manager in the procurement of the best product for the best price and in the management of the relevant areas of the Commissary Kitchen. §  Works closely with the Stewarding Manager to ensure that hygiene standards are maintained and that operating equipment is cared for to maximise its useful life and to minimise breakage. §  Oversees the quality and variety of food and beverages served in the Employee Restaurant, ensuing that this outlet is operated to the same standard as any other outlet. Personnel §  Oversees and assists in the recruitment and selection of all Food and Beverage employees.   Ensures that Kitchen managerial employees follow hotel guidelines when recruiting and use a competency-based approach to selecting their employees. §  Oversees the punctuality and appearance of all Food and Beverage employees, making sure that they wear the correct uniform and maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene, according to the hotel and department’s grooming standards. §  Maximises the effectiveness of Heads of Department by developing each of their skills and abilities through the appropriate training, coaching, and/or mentoring. §  Conducts annual Performance Development Discussions with employees and supports them in their professional development goals §  Ensures effective training programmes for employees in coordination with the Training Manager and their Departmental Trainers. §  Encourages employees to be creative and innovative, challenging and recognising them for their contribution to the success of the operation. §  Oversees the preparation and posting of weekly work schedules in each department, making sure that they reflect business needs and other key performance indicators. §  Supports the implementation of The People Philosophy, demonstrating and reinforcing Hyatt’s Values and Culture Characteristics. §  Ensures that all employees have a complete understanding of and adhere to employee rules and regulations. §  Ensures that employees follow all hotel, company and local rules, policies and regulations relating to fire and hazard safety, and security. §  Provides feedback on the results of the Employee Opinion Survey and ensuring that the relevant changes are implemented.     SCOPE The overall scope of this role is to safeguard the hotel assets and financial resources and ensure that these are utilized to maximize operating results. High forecast accuracy is achieved consistently. Senior Management is provided with timely and accurate financial information. Hotel fully operates under the terms of the Management Agreement. Insurances are up to date and in compliance with local and corporate regulations. At Kempinski, Talent Development is a management responsibility and consequently an integral and important part of our Managers’ daily activities.    The Director of Finance fulfils their role as a Talent Development Ambassador when: They actively support and implement Talent Development initiatives as a part of their daily activities. They identify Training talents in their department and throughout the hotels as per below definition and actively support their career development. They support and initiate transfer, cross exposure and task force assignments for their team. They personally conduct TTTTs with their team on a regular basis and take personal interest for their talents’ development plans. They recruit and select potential talent according to the Company’s current and future hotel, regional and worldwide needs including conducting interviews for positions in their department and their region. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for following and understanding all Kempinski Policies & Procedures.  Responsible for behaving in a professional and harmonious manner and following the Kempinski code of conduct. Responsible for understanding and following the terms of the Management Agreement.  Responsible for supporting, mentoring and developing the finance staff.  Responsible for supporting and encouraging training of all staff in financial matters . Responsible for developing the annual business plan together with the General Manager and Executive Committee.  Responsible for conducting monthly P&L meetings.  Responsible for monitoring and controlling all revenues and expenses and making the corresponding recommendations when needed.  Responsible for reviewing the cash position of the hotel in order to optimize the use of funds.  Responsible for preparing and submitting the quarterly self assessment report.  Responsible for preparing and submitting an accurate monthly forecast. Responsible for reviewing and signing the Balance Sheet reconciliations monthly.  Responsible for ensuring the preparation of the accurate and timely monthly financial report. Responsible for being the contact for the auditors and act upon recommendations in the audit report.  Responsible for continuously searching for new business opportunities to benefit the hotel.  Responsible for the control environment within the hotel.  Responsible for keeping and safeguarding all contracts, lease agreements, licenses, insurance policies and all legal and financial documents.  Responsible for maintaining good relationships with the hotel owners/representatives as well as external partners.  Responsible for communicating with the General Manager on any discrepancies or other potential problems.     OVERALL OBJECTIVE The HR Director supports the General Director in all decision relating to strategic, organizational, and operational people matters for a luxury hotel property. The role helps to drive organizational performance on the objectives of Quality (through effective recruitment, development, and engagement of capable and motivated team members), Performance (through robust performance management, reward and recognition), and Compliance (through compliant and efficient HR Operations, policies & procedures). MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES As a Business Partner to the hotel's General Director and trusted advisor to the management team, support the delivery of the ambitious business objectives of the hotel by locally delivering the strategic HR agenda focused on attracting, developing, engaging, and retaining talent, ensuring effective performance management, supporting organizational design and workforce planning, and ensuring efficient and compliant HR operations. Support and coach the leadership team in any organizational and people topics, to help them achieve their guest service and business objectives. Maintain and develop a strong employer brand in the local market and beyond, implement effective and innovative search and selection for senior as well as volume recruitment through a variety of sources, as well as an effective onboarding process. Drive strong colleague engagement through employee communication and creative activities and events, and ensure proactive follow up on engagement survey results and ongoing feedback, handle staff grievance issues proactively. Understand the competitive positioning of the hotel as an employer in the market and create appropriate compensation & benefits structures based on market and internal benchmarking. Plan and implement an annual budget and manning guide, following up closely on personnel costs, and preparing local management reporting as well as corporate reports. Ensures that corporate and local policies & procedures are communicated and implemented. Ensure an efficient and compliant HR administration according to Kempinski standards and local requirements, including supervision of internal and external payroll services. Ensure compliance with local labour and immigration law and handle any legal issues including staff disciplinary actions. Effectively lead the HR team including recruiting, HR administration, and staff accommodation functions. Implement global performance management and talent management and succession planning processes, and follow up on the development and mobility of internal talent, including effective management of promotions, transfers, cross-trainings and task force assignments. Project manage the roll-out of new global initiatives at the hotel and contribute to the design and implementation of new tools, e.g. HR information system. Additional responsibilities and tasks can be added at any time according to the needs of the business.
