The Senior Manager, Safety and Security - North China Region (Beijing based) will embody the six guiding principles of Safety and Security, Protecting Potential of our team members, guests, and assets.

What will I be doing?
As the Senior Manager, Safety and Security - North China Region, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
-Support the allocated group of hotels within a region in respect of occupational health & safety, food safety, fire safety, security, crisis management, trading standards, public health, housing (where applicable) and disability compliance. The role involves the provision of advice and support for the protection of the company’s owned and managed assets and to ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements and company policies related to all safety and security disciplines. The role requires a risk based approach in terms of allocation of resources whether this be through specialist training, general operational support, auditing, accident investigation and involvement with local enforcement officials on statutory routine inspections. Analytical responsibilities come from review of statistical accident and claims data to allocate resources for high risk areas at each hotel. The role also includes project work as directed by the Regional Director of Safety & Security or Senior Director of Safety & Security. All projects relate to improving the safety and security services provided to the Hilton Worldwide portfolio of hotels
Planning Activities 25%
-Evaluates the effectiveness of claims management activities at the hotel level to minimize direct or indirect costs to hotels.
-Develop Staretegy and Support Pre Opening Hotels and Implementation Safety & Security Standards
-Develop Staretegy and Support Trading Hotels
-Establishes and revises procedures, policies and processes to include new or modified regulatory requirements.
-Drive Safety & Security Programs for Greater China
-Facilitate Safety & Security Workshop
Organizing Activities 25%
-Assess and oversees investigations at corporate and owned and managed properties. Assigns safety/security managers and supervises accordingly.
-Provides technical advice and project management services (CCTV, locks, access control, fire safety, asset protection) for system improvements, upgrades and new build projects.
-Coordinates special projects as directed by Director Safety & Security Asia Pacific and maintained
-Assists hotels with security issues and threats
-Crisis Coordinator for Greater China
Directing Activities 35%
-Manages hotel audit programme at agreed frequencies with appropriate follow-up reports, benchmarking and recommendations to the Director Safety & Security Asia Pacific, hotel GMs and Operations Vice President for assigned hotels.
-Directs the development and administration of Risk Management for Greater China.
-Liaises with enforcement authorities on company issues.
-Directs health and safety, fire risk assessments (as applicable) in studies of selected locations and HACCP reviews as required.
-Oversees the implementation and use of the Safety & Security Profile/audit tool for hotels.
-Manages effective partnerships with Legal, Architecture and Construction, Technical Services, Brand Management, Human Resources, Hotel Operations, Risk Management and lead authorities.
Controlling Activities 15%
-Implements safety and security programmes, projects, policies, procedures, and related statutory fire safety, health and safety and food safety training for assigned hotels.
-Ensures legal compliance with safety & security related requirements including fire safety, occupational health and safety, food safety, housing and trading standards.
-Maintains up to date knowledge of new or revised legislation as appropriate and current guidance and to ensure procedural and training documents are updated from the relevant authorities.
-Assesses the need for investigations at corporate owned and managed properties.
-Assesses actual performance against standards to determine whether the department is on target to reach its goals and takes corrective actions as necessary.
-Assists in prosecution efforts resulting from investigations.
-Establishes and enforces policies and procedures that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the Company.
-Works within established departmental budget.
-Reviews and makes appropriate adjustments in activities and expenses throughout the fiscal year to ensure optimal financial results.
In addition to performance of the above essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the Regional Director Safety & Security.
-Other job duties as assigned, relative to the essential functions of the department.

-High School Diploma.
- 3-5 years of related experience.
- 4+ years of management or supervisory experience.

-Through knowledge of the hotels floor plans and layout of the building(s), function rooms and working knowledge of the city and surrounding area.
-Able to use a variety of programs on the computer in order to prepare correspondence, produce reports and presentations and communicate via email.
-Able to stand, walk and/or sit and continuously perform essential job functions for an eight-plus hour shift.
-Able to observe team members in the work place, analyze operations and detect situations of concern with regard to both team member and guest behaviors.
